I just had a converstation with a friend of mine who plays poker and according to him you lose less money on no limit than you do on limit because people playing nolimit want to keep you in the pot so they bet less.

I think that is bull shit, but just wondering if anyone else agrees with that?

I agree. People in limit seem reckless and will push you and push you and get the pot up real high. I think the name is called limit because you should limit your deposit/buy-in amount. You can lose a lot of money in these games.

The rule of thumb for me in a limit hold'em game is to play very few hands, unless I can limp in to see the flop. My goal unless I have a monster is to see that flop as cheaply as possible

And the hands I DO play, I hit them HARD unless I really have a definite feel that someone has gotten the better of me "post-flop" (no "pissing" matches when I feel I'm beat")

I would think that one would lose more money in no-limit, since one could bet more money than in limit. My grandmother plays only no-limit and she goes through her play money on the net really fast. She'll go all in, even if it's a sucky hand. lol.
