I don't like playing heads up very much, you are forced to bet a lot with really bad hands. I think that basically it comes down to who can bluff the most and get away with it.
At a full ring game on the lower limits there is really no bluffing, you just wait until you have winning cards, playing heads up you can't wait you have to try to win every hand even when you have crap for cards. I am just not very good at that. Re-raising with nothing just runs against my nature.

You are right, heads up involves a lot of playing bad hands that you would normally fold in a full ring game. I personally like the fast pace of playing heads up. I find that I can spend a lot of time getting to really know my opponent and try to find a way of exploiting mistakes they are making. This is expecially true for "live" games when getting to know your opponent's tells beceomes important.

To tell you the truth, I'm a big fan of heads up poker, especially with a higher chip count. If I get a semi decent hand I like to bet big, either to steal the blinds or to scare the person.

i don't think it is a good method to bet just to scare the opponent.
If he is smart, will wait for a good hand and take back all you won in past 10 hands when you "scared him"

I know, my strategy would be to keep on scaring him off until he plays a hand, which usually means it's a pretty decent starting hand. Then I make the next move based on the hand I have.

I could not agree more. When playing heads up, you really do have to play more hands until the flop. If not, you have no chance of taking down the other guy.
