I was wondering if any of you guys tip the dealer when playing at a land based casino, and if so, how much??

I usually tip them something. It really just depends on how long I have been playing at the table on what I tip them.

When I win a pot, I tip the amount of the small blind (no tip if I'm just stealing the blinds).

when I leave the table, like tater said, how much I leave depends on how long I've been playing.

You are tipping the dealer for providing good service.

What is surprising is a lot of people don't even think about tipping the dealer. I have seen so many people play for quite awhile and some have won and they just get up and walk away.

I got into a discussion on this topic the other night while playing poker and the majority of the people said that technically you are not allowed to tip the dealer at a casino. Does anyone happen to know if that is the case? thanks.

The casino's I play in I've tipped the dealers and they always put the chips in a separate slot that I assume they split up at the end of their shifts. I've never heard that you're not supposed to and see people do it all the time.
