The Game Show Network has renewed “High Stakes Poker” for a third season. The taping is scheduled for October at a location yet to be determined. Season One will begin reairing starting September 18th.
Currently sitting in 14th place in the WSOP Main Event, Luke Chung stands to win $10 million more than the $12 million first place prize. Luke was 1 of 423 players that qualified for the WSOP Main Event through Full Tilt Poker. With the largest bonus offered by an online site, Full Tilt Poker will pay an additional $10 million to the winner of the Main Event if they gained entry into the tournament through a Full Tilt Poker qualifier.
Paul Azinger may face disciplinary action from the PGA after withdrawing from the US Bank Championship after the deadline. His reason for withdrawal was that his father was scheduled to undergo surgery. However, he was reported to have played in the World Series of Poker during that weekend.
Allen Cunningham from Full Tilt Poker is the last well known poker player remaining in the 2006 WSOP Main Event. Allen has 88 cashes in major poker tournaments, 70 final tables, 14 victories, and 3 World Series of Poker bracelets. If Allen is eliminated, the 2006 Champion will be an unknown player for the 5th straight year.
