PokerStars.com has registered its five millionth player. Launched in 2001, PokerStars.com had only 2.5 million players less than a year ago. The site has seen recent growth largely due to its sponsorship of the last three World Series of Poker champions. The five millionth player received a WSOP main event package. 1,116 players in the 2005 WSOP (19%) qualified via PokerStars satellite tournaments.
