Friday, 10 March 2006 House Reps Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) and Jim Leach (R-IA) have reintroduced the Internet Gambling Prohibition Act. Various versions of the bill have made it through the Senate over the years only to be killed in the House of Representatives. Since the last version of the bill, the World Trade Organization has won an essential ruling concerning the enforcement of the Wire Act in countries with prior trade treaties. With all of the online poker sites located overseas, the Gambling Prohibition Act would face similar roadblocks if passed. However, at this point, it looks like the bill will once again die on the House floor.
