The Wynn Las Vegas has taken poker technology to the next level. All of the poker chips in the casino have a radio frequency ID tag. The tag allows the chips to be tracked from the cashier to the table and back to the cashier.

In cash games, the ID tag eliminates human error when a player is chipping up before leaving the table or when cashing out at the end of the day. In tournament play, chip counts would be immediate and accurate and allow for better tournament reporting.

Other benefits of the new poker chip technology would include the elimination of chip passing between players. Also, it would help prevent cheating by tracking players who add additional poker chips to their tournament stack.
