THE EXTRAS

Players should not show their cards to anyone else during an active hand. Discussing a hand while the hand is in progress should also not be permitted. Showing one's hand to any player at any time (even after the hand is completed) requires showing the hand to the entire table.

Texas Holdem should be played for fun so use the "Cards speak" rule to determine the winner of a hand. This means the cards read for themselves and override any oral hand declaration. Players are responsible for holding onto their cards until the winner is finally declared. Throwing one's cards face down into or towards the muck, even at showdown, will fold one's hand.
Any odd chips in a split pot should be broken into the smallest possible denominations and evenly distributed among the winners. Any remainder should be given to the player closest to the blinds (with the dealer being the furthest away).

If a player is dealt more or less cards than the game calls for, and it is discovered before two players act on their hands, it should be a misdeal. If it is discovered after two players have acted, then all monies, and blinds are forfeited by that player.

If the flop has too many cards, it should be taken back and reshuffled, except the burn card should remain burned. No new burn card will be used.

If cards are flopped (or fourth or fifth card shown) by the dealer before all the betting is completed, the entire flop (or fourth or fifth card) is taken back and reshuffled. The burn card will remain and no additional burn card will be used for this flop (or fourth or fifth card).

The more people you have playing, the more fun Texas Holdem can be. It's important to remember that adding more people does not necessarily mean adding more time. For example, if you have 20 people playing at 2 tables, 5 players will need to be eliminated from each table before the tables are combined. With 9 more eliminations at the final table, a player would need to beat 14 people to win the Texas Holdem tournament. If you start with 24 players at 3 tables, you would also need to eliminate 5 from each table before combining for a final table. With only 9 players at the final table (3 from each table), a player would only need to beat 8 more players to win. Regardless of the number of players, your Texas Holdem tournament is sure to be a success.
